Summer Reading: FIZZ, BOOM, READ!!!

Something very exiting happened this week at the library. The summer reading program was launched at Richards Memorial Library and boy did it start with a bang!!!
Created by Kit and Eunice
Justin from Sciencetellers came in to tell us the story Dragons and Dreams which features princesses, ice sorceresses, dragons, and the magical HORN OF FIRE as well as the BUCKET OF FOG.

It was an amazing show that included dry ice, exploding bottlecaps, flash paper and the elusive and rare Fuji film canister (a mysterious foreign device unknown to many children). The scientific explanations were spot on and easy to follow for any age. I hope everyone had as good a time as I did!!!

I'm going to love London, but I will miss seeing some of the great things that are lined up for this summer, because experimenting with things and making them explode is always good fun.

and sharpened on Justin and the wonderful bucket of fog.

Question: What was your favorite summer reading program, either recently or as a kid? I remember a summer program where the library had a caterpillar into butterfly exhibit (although I always seem to miss the releasing of the butterflies)
