Wicked London

Today was a rainy day, but that didn't hold us back. We went to the Tower of London and got to learn a lot about the Tower and its history and executions (the main tower is 92 feet tall which is like super amazing back in 1078 when it was started)

super super amazing

Note: The Tower served not only as a defensive structure, but as a prison.

We got to see lots of cool things, like the crown jewels and Tower Green, where the private beheadings were held including that of Lady Jane Grey and the infamous Anne Boleyn.  The glass pillow is a representation of the beheadings that occurred there, accompanied by a poem.

Gentle visitor pause awhile, where you stand death cut away the light of many days.
Here jewelled names were broken from the vivid thread of life,
may they rest in peace while we walk the generations
around their strife and courage under these restless skies.

Then we got to wander around Borough Market, which was amazing. There were lots of fresh fruits and veggies and everything organic and lots of hot food. I'm sure my fellow bloggers will have some wonderful things to write about also. I had to limit myself however and only got some Turkish Delight and Pad Thai (which were both A++.)

AND THEN:

WE GOT TO SEE WICKED.

IT WAS WICKED AWESOME.
